Volunteer Service

There are myriad ways that Emeritus College members help fulfill the mission of the college. Below are some ways that members actively engage in service to the university.

Members of the Emeritus College teach courses in the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning (OLLI), which is a part of Emory Continuing Education.  In the period since 2014, more than 20 EUEC members have taught in OLLI.

International MedShare and Atlanta Food Bank

Emeriti and others from the Emory community collectively volunteer to sort and package salvaged medical supplies to developing nations.  Via the EUEC's Service Committee, members are also very active in assisting with the annual Thanksgiving Food drive for the Atlanta Food Bank.

The Beckett Project

The papers of playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett are housed in the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, & Rare Book Library. EUEC member Brenda Bynum (Theater/Drama) leads a small group of Beckett papers editors.
